Terenine to Sponsor “Technology in Healthcare Month,” an Annual Chattanooga Technology Council Celebration
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee – June 29, 2011 – Terenine Technology Solutions, an expert in managed services, applications development and data center design and operation, is pleased to announce it is a sponsor for the Chattanooga Technology Council’s “Technology in Healthcare Month.” The annual celebration will feature three events in July that will bring together Chattanooga area information technology leaders involved in the healthcare industry.
“We’re excited to provide these forums that will bring together some of Chattanooga’s brightest from technology and healthcare to share and collaborate on how technology is playing a paramount role improving the quality of patient care,” commented Robert Phillips, executive director for the council. “This is the third year that we’ve had a Healthcare month, and this year the response has been the biggest by far.”
The first event, Executive Leadership in Healthcare Breakfast, will be facilitated by Keith Cox, CEO, Health Information Partnership for Tennessee. The participants will discuss current issues on the mind of every healthcare executive and professional: 5010, ICD-10, HITECH, HIP-TN, Regional Extension Centers (REC’s), Meaningful Use, and more. Additionally, Erlanger Health System CIO, Laurene Vamprine, will facilitate a discussion around many of the challenging issues facing healthcare providers, payers and healthcare information technology companies.
The second event, Technology in Healthcare Innovation Panel and Reception, will showcase new and innovative achievements in healthcare. The panel will have representatives from Parental Health, Erlanger Health System, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Unosano, and the Chattanooga Center for Neurologic Research. Conversations will explore how Chattanooga companies and organizations are at the forefront of new technologies, devices and practices that are playing a role in improving quality outcomes, reducing costs, or both. This event is July 21, 2011, 5 p.m.–8 p.m., and is open to the public.
The third event is a Healthcare CEO Luncheon featuring Vicky Gregg, CEO, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and Jim Brexler, CEO, Erlanger Health System. Government policies and legislation are increasingly driving more and more of the business decisions made in the healthcare industry today. Two significant pieces of recent legislation will be discussed: HITECH, a part of ARRA (American Reinvestment and Recovery Act), which highlighted billions of dollars of incentives for hospitals and providers; and the Affordable Care Act, recent healthcare legislation passed by Congress in March 2010. This event is scheduled July 26, 2011, 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m., and is open to the public.
